Skills

As the FinTech industry rapidly evolves, the need for further skills and talent is essential for the Welsh FinTech ecosystem to thrive.

Attract & Retain

FinTech Wales’ esteemed skills strategy covers two key objectives to ensure Welsh FinTechs can attract and retain the skills and talent required both now and for the future:

Raise awareness of careers in FinTech

It’s essential to make people of all ages aware of what career prospects the Welsh FinTech ecosystem can offer.   We must engage today to pave a way for the future generation of talent.

Connect FinTech Wales’ members with work-ready talent

In an intensely competitive market, it is crucial to link industry with academia to ensure a continuous supply of talented individuals who will support and enhance our ecosystem.

Featured Initiatives

We have implemented several skills initiatives to ensure the successful execution of our strategy.  Our range of activities, courses and opportunities are specifically designed to inspire individuals to consider a career in FinTech. Additionally, we offer diverse solutions to FinTechs in Wales, enabling organisations to recruit fresh talent, enhance the skills of current employees, and engage with local communities to cultivate the next generation of accomplished professionals.

Academies

We work closely with organisations, universities, colleges and training providers to deliver a number of academies designed to develop the skills required by FinTechs in Wales.  The academies take under-employed, unemployed and career changers through a 12 week programme, which then concludes with a recruitment day where FinTech Wales members get priority access to meet and recruit this new, work-ready talent.

Upcoming Academies

Sustainable FinTech Leadership Programme

FinTech Wales works in collaboration with the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) to offer a one of a kind ‘Sustainable FinTech Leadership Programme’. The 7 week course is suitable for professionals in the FinTech, Finance and broader Technology sector wishing to implement credible and transparent sustainability strategies within their organisations.
