Apprenticeship & Traineeship Programmes – The College Merthyr Tydfil

The College Merthyr Tydfil offers apprenticeship and traineeship programmes that let individuals build qualifications and practical skills while either working or gaining work experience. Ideal for those who want to earn while they learn, these programmes combine four days of hands-on placement with one day of college-based study.

Apprenticeships

Participants work four days a week and study one day at college while earning a wage and achieving job-specific qualifications, from Level 2 to Level 5.

ASPIRE Shared Apprenticeship Programme

The ASPIRE Shared Apprenticeship Programme is a collaboration in which apprentices are employed by the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, trained by the college, and placed with industry host firms during their 2–3 year apprenticeship.

This initiative supports skills development in the engineering and manufacturing sector, advancing business growth and addressing youth employment in the region.
