Fast Track Talent Academy 2024/2025 Launches to Bridge Skills Gaps in South East Wales

Fintech Wales is proud to share the launch of the Fast Track Talent Academy 2024/2025, an exciting initiative aimed at addressing the critical skills gaps faced by employers in the fintech and technology sectors. In partnership with Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC), and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund through the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR), this programme is set to transform the recruitment landscape for businesses seeking expertise in data & AI, cybersecurity, fraud & risk, and financial analysis.

This academy provides organisations with access to top-quality talent while removing the typical recruitment costs. Each candidate selected through the programme will receive a 12-month fixed-term contract with a participating employer, along with a fully funded, certified study programme at either Level 5 or Level 7, delivered in collaboration with the University of South Wales (USW).

As part of the wider Change Maker Network discussions, the Fast Track Talent Academy directly addresses the region’s challenge of sourcing and upskilling talent. By focusing on South East Wales, the programme offers a unique solution for employers struggling to fill critical roles, while also providing candidates with personal and professional growth opportunities. The involvement of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, further underscores the programme’s commitment to ensuring high standards in the training and development of tech talent.

To qualify for this programme, candidates must live or be able to work in the South East Wales region. With recruitment costs fully covered through the funding arrangement, the Fast Track Talent Academy removes a significant barrier for businesses in need of highly skilled professionals.
