Glamorgan County Cricket Club and Welsh Fire
Glamorgan County Cricket Club is one of England and Wales’ eighteen first-class counties and the only Welsh first-class cricket club, proudly representing Wales at the highest level of domestic cricket. Founded in 1888, Glamorgan has a distinguished history, winning the County Championship in 1948, 1969 and 1997, alongside three limited-overs domestic trophies.

Based at the iconic Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Glamorgan has called the venue home since 1967. The 15,000-capacity ground sits in the heart of the Welsh capital and has developed into one of the most important cricket venues in Wales. Glamorgan also takes first-class cricket across the country, helping the club maintain strong connections with communities throughout Wales.
Sophia Gardens is also an established international cricket venue. Since hosting its first international in 1999, the ground has staged major fixtures including Ashes Test matches. The ground is also home to Welsh Fire, Glamorgan’s Hundred franchise.
