Welsh fintech startup Brumble targets £15m annual revenue by 2030 as motoring platform expands
Cardiff-based fintech startup Brumble has set an ambitious target of reaching £15 million in annual revenue by 2030 following rapid expansion during its first year of trading.
Founded by former Admiral employee Ryan Hughes and launched in November 2025, Brumble is on a mission to become the UK’s go-to platform for anything car-related, helping drivers save money through comparison services, free guides and easy-to-understand information on topics including insurance, vehicle finance and running costs.
Over the past eight months, the startup has evolved from a car insurance comparison platform into a broader motoring marketplace, introducing seven additional products and services while reporting 182% month-on-month sales growth.
Initially focused on car insurance comparison, the platform now includes van insurance comparison, car finance comparison, vehicle affordability tools, car-selling services and an expanding range of motoring products.
Brumble says its strategy is to specialise exclusively in services for motorists, distinguishing itself from comparison websites that operate across multiple consumer sectors.
Ryan Hughes, Founder of Brumble, said:
“Comparison is second nature for UK consumers, but most platforms try to serve everyone, from broadband to energy to credit cards. Brumble is built exclusively around the car.
“We don’t just help drivers compare insurance, we give them free tools, expert guides and a single destination for the products they actually need as motorists.”
The company is entering a competitive comparison market currently led by established brands, but believes a specialist approach can help it secure market share by offering more tailored products and services.
As part of its long-term growth strategy, Brumble aims to capture 1% of the UK comparison market by 2030, which it estimates would generate around £15 million in annual revenue.
The business is also preparing for changing consumer behaviour as generative AI and conversational search become increasingly important in how people research financial and motoring products online.
Hughes said:
“The way consumers find and compare products is changing fast.
“The brands that win in this next phase will be the ones with unique data insights, genuinely useful tools and expert content that demonstrates real sector knowledge. That’s exactly what we’re building at Brumble.
“We’re not just optimising for traditional search, we’re making sure that when an AI recommends where to compare car insurance or find vehicle finance, Brumble is the answer.”
To support its growth ambitions, Brumble is combining organic content, AI-focused distribution, paid marketing and strategic partnerships as it looks to establish itself as a specialist motoring marketplace.
Hughes added:
“Our goal is to become the UK’s go-to platform for anything car related. That might sound ambitious for a business launched eight months ago, but we’re growing quickly, we’re disciplined and lean.
“Every product we launch and tool we build gets us closer to making Brumble the first place drivers go when they need help with their car.”
As Brumble continues to expand its product offering and invest in new ways for consumers to discover financial products online, the Cardiff startup is aiming to establish itself as a specialist destination for UK motorists seeking to compare products, manage vehicle costs and make more informed financial decisions.
