Welsh Fintech IE Hub Partners with Smart Money Cymru to Transform Financial Wellbeing in Wales

IE Hub, a pioneering Welsh fintech platform supporting individuals in financial difficulty, has joined forces with Smart Money Cymru, Wales’ fastest-growing Community Bank. This collaboration, facilitated by Fintech Wales, aims to improve financial wellbeing across Welsh communities by providing innovative tools to help customers manage their finances and access critical resources.

Supporting Financial Resilience

The partnership allows Smart Money Cymru customers to leverage IE Hub’s platform to share their financial data effortlessly, create manageable budgets, and maximize income while reducing outgoings. This approach not only simplifies financial planning but also enhances access to benefits and social tariffs for those in need.

As traditional banking options diminish in smaller towns, the role of community banks like Smart Money Cymru becomes increasingly critical. Through this partnership, customers struggling financially can receive tailored support, empowering them to navigate challenging circumstances with confidence.

A Shared Vision

Gareth Llewelyn, Commercial Director of IE Hub, highlighted the synergy between the two organizations:

“There’s a great alignment in terms of what IE Hub and Smart Money Cymru want to achieve for the communities in Wales. We will be working together to help customers who are in financial difficulty but also with affordability when it comes to applying for a loan or simply getting a handle on their budget.”

Llewelyn also emphasized the broader impact of the collaboration:

“We will be saving the consumer the time and effort of managing conversations with multiple creditors and helping them with financial education and awareness. The plan going forward is to engage with other Credit Unions in Wales to increase the reach of people we can support. We are especially grateful to Fintech Wales for providing the platform for us to meet Smart Money Cymru and foster this partnership.”

A Catalyst for Change

Mark White, CEO of Smart Money Cymru, praised Fintech Wales for fostering the connection between the two organizations, stating:

“We first met IE Hub at a Fintech Wales event and established straight away that our objectives aligned. Together, I really do believe we can positively impact communities in Wales.”

Through this partnership, both organizations aim to provide financial tools that empower individuals, foster financial education, and strengthen the resilience of local communities.
