Wales at the Forefront of Compliance Tech with Credas’ New Wallet Launch
Cardiff-based compliance technology firm Credas has officially launched its new Compliance Wallet, with the product debuting at a well-attended event in central London yesterday. Held at The Original Ivy, the launch attracted professionals from across the property, legal and regulatory sectors – highlighting the urgent demand for smarter compliance solutions.
The Credas Compliance Wallet has been developed to reduce friction, eliminate redundant checks, and combat escalating fraud risks in regulated industries. While designed for broad application, the wallet’s initial rollout targets the property market – where compliance duplication remains a significant bottleneck.
Each digital wallet contains a verified identity and full compliance profile, including PEPs and sanctions screening, AML checks, address verification, and ongoing monitoring. This allows for swift, seamless onboarding through a single, shareable solution that integrates with existing systems.
Hosted by property expert and presenter Russell Quirk, the launch event featured a panel discussion with Catherine Perry of Yopa and Catherine Chappell of Connells. Both speakers highlighted the operational pressures caused by managing compliance across multiple regulators – including HMRC, the SRA, and FCA – and underlined the role of education and training in mitigating risk.
Credas’ Chief Commercial Officer, Nick Ledingham, spoke on the scale of the problem, sharing that each property transaction currently involves an average of 5.4 identity checks. He was later joined by Neil Williams (CTO) and Gruff Dodd (CFO) for a wider discussion on fraud prevention and interoperability.
“The Credas Compliance Wallet addresses this head-on by creating a shareable, interoperable solution that provides a one-time fraud audit trail of verification,” said Ledingham. “With 15 million wallets available at launch and compatibility with Apple, Google and Government ID wallets, we are building an industry-wide solution that works with – not against – existing systems.”
Tim Barnett, CEO of Credas, also praised the work of the team behind the product:
“Compliance tech is changing, and that change is being driven by a small but hugely talented team based in Cardiff – a team I am very proud of.”
Following the announcement, guests engaged in a Q&A session around the Compliance Wallet’s potential to streamline property transactions and reduce compliance pain points for both professionals and consumers.
With 60% of property sector checks already involving Credas, the launch positions the company at the forefront of industry transformation, driving higher standards of trust, efficiency and collaboration.
