Welcome to the FinTech Five, the part of the week where we take a closer look at the best articles, news, and features from our FinTech Wales members.

This week we celebrate the achievements of five FinTech Wales members who have appeared in top lists and received awards over the past seven days.

We also have important information on how you can nominate your favourite Welsh FinTechs for accolades at this years FinTech Awards Wales and Wales Startup Awards before the deadline for both closes.

Admiral Group Recognised as “Great Place to Work” for Twenty-First Consecutive Year

First this week, Welsh employer, Admiral Group has been recognised as a “great place to work” for the twenty-first consecutive year. Admiral, was named the 5th best super large workplace (1,000+ employees) in the UK by the Great Place to Work ® Institute.

In 2020, the company was also given a Lifetime Masters award for being named in the list every year since it was launched in 2000. Admiral is one of only two companies to have achieved this.

Admiral Group CEO, Milena Mondini, said,“Our people are the key to our success, and this has never been more evident than over the last year. They’re the driving force behind our record performances, our great customer service and our contribution to the wider community. Principality Building Society Named in top 10 Great Places to Work in the UK

Principality Building Society has been named as one of the top ten UK’s Best Workplaces™.

The largest building society in Wales ranked 8th in the super large employer category of The UK’s Best Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work®.

Principality ranked highly for creating a culture that focuses on employee wellbeing, by promoting mental and physical wellbeing in the workplace as well as a healthy work environment and work-life balance.

CashCalc Join Prestigious WealthTech100 List for Innovation

Newport cashflow planning software provider, CashCalc, have been recognised as one of the 2021 WealthTech100 award winners, after the list was announced earlier this week.  CashCalc is only the second firm based in Wales to ever make the WealthTech100 awards, and the announcement comes in the same month CashCalc celebrate their 7th birthday.

The winners were identified and selected from a list of over 1,000 companies by a panel of analysts and industry experts. They looked for companies who demonstrated an innovative use of technology to solve a significant industry problem, generated cost savings and/or efficiency improvements.

Ray Adams, Chartered Financial Planner and Director of CashCalc – who founded the company in May 2014 – said: “I’m absolutely speechless. To be awarded a place on the list of most innovative companies in the world, as a small company from south Wales, I’m completely and utterly blown away.

Delio Keep Place in WealthTech100 for Third Year Running

Delio revealed this week it’s successfully retained its spot on the top 100 list of the WealthTech100. Along with CashCalc, Delio have been recognised globally as one of the most promising tech solutions across the banking and investment sectors

After featuring on the list for its third consecutive year, Delio is looking to continue strengthening its products and cement its place in the market as Gareth Lewis, chief executive of Delio, explained:

“We are delighted to feature on the WealthTech 100 again this year. As more and more WealthTech solutions are emerging, it’s vital to stay ahead of the game. Yoello Celebrate Win at the British Data Awards

Next, Cardiff order and payment specialists, Yoello, have been named a Winner at the British Data Awards 2021.

The British Data Awards is an annual campaign that celebrates the organisations and people that are deeply passionate about data and helps to uncovers data success stories. Organisations taking part this year include FTSE 100 giants, tech unicorns, innovative start-ups, large public sector bodies, agile not-for-profits, and everything in between.
