Starling Bank Becomes First Digital Bank to Win Gold for Fair Payment Practices
Starling Bank, which has a presence in Wales and was founded by Welsh entrepreneur Anne Boden, has been awarded Gold at the Office of the Small Business Commissioner’s Fair Payment Code Awards. The bank received this recognition for paying over 95% of its invoices to suppliers—many of whom are small businesses—within 30 days.
According to the Small Business Commissioner, late payments are a significant challenge for SMEs, impacting cash flow and growth. By prioritising prompt payments, Starling Bank aims to support small businesses and foster a fairer business environment.
