Spending with Zero Just Got Even Easier with the Launch of Apple Pay

Cardiff-based B Corp and sustainable money app Zero has launched Apple Pay, making it even easier for customers to spend sustainably and securely using their iPhone or Apple Watch.

The launch enables Zero users to make quick and secure contactless payments using the security features embedded in Apple devices, such as Face ID and Touch ID. The feature eliminates the need for physical debit cards, aligning with Zero’s broader mission to build a low-impact, digital-first e-money solution.

The fintech, which now has over 8,000 customers, continues to grow through a community-first approach. In a unique move, Zero is committing 20% of its future value to be owned by its customer base—ensuring that those who believe in the brand are directly involved in shaping its future.

“This Apple Pay feature launch is a key milestone to provide all contactless payment methods to our customers as we continue to focus on building the features our community wants to see, while remaining committed to building a sustainable e-money brand. Our customers are at the heart of every decision we make, which is why we’re proudly committing 20 percent of the business to them. The future of Zero is being shaped by the people who believe in it.”

The launch comes as public demand grows for ethical and environmentally-conscious financial solutions. According to Opinium research, 61% of people believe banks should play an active role in fighting climate change, yet fewer than half feel their current bank is doing enough. Additionally, 59% of people want their money to be used in ways that support the environment.

Zero was certified as a B Corp in July 2024, underscoring its commitment to rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

As Zero expands its offering, this Apple Pay integration marks another step forward in making sustainable spending effortless for a new generation of values-led consumers.
