She Who UK Marks Third Year with Record-Breaking International Women’s Day Event
She Who UK has rounded off another successful International Women’s Day (IWD) event, marking its third year with a record turnout and continued growth as a community-led initiative.
Founded by Gemma Barnett, Hannah Williams, Sarah Jones, Ceri Maund, Sophie Webber and Lauren Thomas, She Who UK has expanded rapidly since its inception. The organisation recently welcomed Joanna Corbett-Simmons of Blake Morgan LLP, the event’s headline sponsor, to its operational team.
FinTech Wales was proud to participate as a partner organisation, alongside Tramshed Tech, PureCyber, The Alacrity Foundation UK and Blake Morgan LLP, supporting an initiative focused on driving meaningful progress through community and collaboration.
Hosted at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, the event brought together more than 300 attendees. The programme featured a panel discussion aligned with the national IWD theme of “Give to Gain” and She Who UK’s own focus on “firsts”, celebrating trailblazers who have opened doors for others.
The panel included Lucy Cohen, founder of Mazuma Money; Jackie Smith, Red Devil alumna; Helen Williams, co-founder of Breaking Binaries; and former Olympian Christian Malcolm. The session was hosted by Emma Waddingham, founder and editor of Legal News Wales.
The event also featured a headline fireside chat with Chris Kenna, CEO of Media Stream AI, who shared his personal journey from growing up in foster care to joining the army and achieving business success in data centres.
Now three years on, She Who UK continues to build a growing and engaged community. The 2026 event welcomed over 300 attendees, reflecting strong demand and continued momentum behind its mission to create a space for open conversations, shared learning and collective progress.
Feedback from attendees and partners has been overwhelmingly positive, with organisers highlighting the importance of community in driving change and creating impact.
Following another sold-out event, She Who UK has already launched its 2027 International Women’s Day event, with early interest indicating continued growth for the initiative. Early bird tickets are currently available via this link.
