Sero and SNG Strengthen Partnership for £36.5 Million Wave 3 Warm Homes Project

Sero and Sovereign Network Group (SNG) have announced the continuation of their long-standing collaboration to deliver independent Retrofit Co-ordination Services for SNG’s Wave 3 Warm Homes Social Housing Fund Project.

The £36.5 million initiative, which represents the second-largest funding allocation for a single landlord under Wave 3, will support the retrofit of 4,500 homes. The renewed partnership builds on the successful delivery of Wave 2.1, where Sero helped secure and deliver £9.4 million of funding across 1,000 homes.

The project aims to implement a range of energy efficiency upgrades, including improved ventilation, insulation measures (such as loft and cavity wall insulation), and air source heat pump installations. These improvements are expected to reduce household energy bills and improve comfort, health, and wellbeing for residents. Additionally, SNG is self-funding further enhancements for some homes, including rooftop solar PV panels and battery storage systems, aiming to exceed EPC C standards where possible.

Andy Sutton, CIO and co-founder of Sero, commented:
“This partnership marks another exciting chapter in our ongoing collaboration with SNG. Independent, data-led retrofit co-ordination ensures projects deliver real-world results, helping thousands of residents live in warmer, more affordable homes while accelerating progress toward net zero.”

Jim Dyer, Director for the Built Environment at SNG, added:
“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Sero. Their expertise supports our commitment to quality and transparency, helping us deliver retrofit works that truly benefit our customers and communities, along with delivering to the strategic and holistic outcomes of our Homes and Place Standard and investment strategy as we map a pathway to Net Zero.”

SNG has outlined an ambitious roadmap for its 85,000-home portfolio, committing to achieve EPC C by 2035, EPC B+ by 2047, and Net Zero by 2050. The plan is backed by a £0.5 billion, 10-year investment to retrofit 15,000 homes to EPC B+ standard. Sero’s data-driven approach and in-house software have played a critical role in supporting this ambition, including the development of SNG’s Portfolio Net Zero Model.
