Greenfield opportunity to join a small (<10 people) company and manage an AWS-based cloud environment, drive CI/CD, implement monitoring, performance testing, etc.

​​Ship Shape already has an MVP in Production and in use with customers, with positive feedback. Now we need to take our next step, and for this we need a DevOps engineer that will create a world-class foundation for our product.

You will work with your direct team: Senior Full-Stack Developer, Web Developer, Chief Data Scientist, Data Engineer.

What Ship Shape are looking for:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field

Skills & experience needed:

  • Senior experience, of which min. 5 years experience in DevOps / SRE / Cloud Engineering role. You have managed environments, release processes, security, networking in an AWS environment
  • Experience to know what priorities must be for a small company with limited resource; what gains most benefit and mitigates most risk?
  • Great knowledge of AWS Fargate, EKS, ECS, EC2, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Docker, Bitbucket, Bitbucket pipelines, AWS IAM, AWS Organisations and Billing, JIRA, DB management (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Postgres)
  • Good Linux, infrastructure, and networking knowledge
  • Strong understanding of security, storage, data protection best practice on AWS and in general, and practical experience of implementing solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of release management processes and tools in an Agile environment, including CI/CD
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain monitoring and performance solutions
  • Proven ability to document processes, procedures, know-how (Confluence)
