Confused.com is looking for an experienced Social Media Manager who’ll be responsible for the organic and paid social media strategy. This includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram

This is an exciting and varied role which will be pivotal in steering Confused.com through the challenging and opportunity-rich social media landscape.

Reporting to the Head of Advertising, we’re looking for an ambitious individual with a passion for acquisition and brand marketing. You’ll need to meet the team’s and business objectives through strategic campaign management and will be responsible for a large social media budget.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Paid and organic strategy
  • Overseeing day-to-day campaigns with the team and track weekly and monthly KPIs
  • Optimise campaigns to maximise social media spend
  • Management of a Social Media Community Manager and Campaign Manager
  • Effectively use a large social media budget
  • Closely work with the Media Manager to maximise audience reach
  • Closely work with the Performance team to test acquisition campaigns
  • Upscale acquisition and retention campaigns with positive ROAS
  • Closely work with the ECRM team to increase retention percentage
  • Increase customer reach and retention incrementally
  • Work with the PR and Content team to maximise on topical news
  • Research new and emerging platforms to test, with clear rationale of the benefits to the business
  • Resolve social media attribution challenges in the ever-changing marketing landscape
  • Work closely with the advertising team and the creative agency to ensure social creatives are in line with brand guidelines and best practice
  • Support Community Manager to ensure any reputational issues are swiftly resolved in-line with company processes
  • Manage multiple stakeholders including Design, Compliance and C-suite to ensure campaigns meet business objective and are delivered on time

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge of managing both paid and organic social media
  • A thorough and in-depth understanding of Facebook ads manager
  • A passion for people and management
  • Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrative experience of delivering against business and/or marketing objectives

Sero operates a microservice architecture in GCP using Typescript & NodeJS for their back-end on Kubernetes with Express and TypeORM; and Sero’s front end is React and Cordova based.

As part of the Platform team, you will need the gravitas and ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at a technical level. You will also need to mentor junior developers and work within an agile environment.    

You will be responsible for development and delivery of the code base supporting end to end IT solutions that enable Sero to manage customer interactions, the development of new tooling portfolios supporting carbon neutral developments, energy optimisation and predictive modelling. Your scope will cover the full stack and your responsibilities, outside of delivering code, will include;

  • Setting the coding standard and performing code reviews
  • Interpreting user stories and working with the scrum team to turn these into deliverable tasks
  • Leading solutioning based on the user stories
  • Driving CI/CD into our delivery cycles.
  • Writing and executing test plans (unit, integration and stress)
  • Assisting with timeline and cost assessments
  • Mentoring less experienced team members

Skills & qualifications:

  • At least 12 months experience as a senior / lead software developer.
  • Experience working on typescript + node products for both mobile and web
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably using Kubernetes in a microservice environment.
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing CI/CD
  • A deep understanding of relational and non-relational data stores
  • Awareness of Agile principles and the benefits of the differing methodologies
  • A useful extra would be to have experience with billing and/or time series developments.
