Principality Building Society’s Future Generations Fund Surpasses £2 Million Milestone
Principality Building Society has announced a major milestone for its Future Generations Fund, which has now awarded more than £2 million in grants to support young people and communities across Wales.
Established in partnership with Community Foundation Wales, the fund is dedicated to creating lasting impact by supporting initiatives that empower individuals under 25. It provides vital resources in areas such as mental health support, financial education, skills training, and sustainability.
The latest round of funding, worth £500,000, is now open for applications. Up to 20 community groups will receive grants of up to £20,000 per year for two years. The grants are available to third sector and community organisations with a focus on:
- Developing training and employability skills
- Supporting mental health and wellbeing
- Building financial resilience through education
- Promoting environmental conservation and sustainable living
- Delivering workshops on budgeting, nutrition, and life skills
In addition, a new £100,000 Retrofit for the Future Fund has been introduced to support environmentally-focused projects. This fund offers large grants of up to £25,000 annually, promoting energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The application deadline for both funding streams is Monday 6th October at 12pm.
Organisations eligible to apply include constituted groups, registered charities, CICs, and social enterprises operating within Wales, or near the Welsh border. Priority will be given to those serving vulnerable or underserved communities, including individuals from protected characteristic backgrounds and those living in the most deprived areas.
The fund aligns with the goals of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, which encourages long-term, collaborative solutions to challenges such as poverty, health inequality, and climate change.
