Principality Building Society CFO Attends No.10 Summit on Future of Mutuals

Principality Building Society’s Chief Financial Officer, Iain Mansfield, was among key figures invited to 10 Downing Street this week to represent the mutual sector in a high-level discussion with UK Government representatives.

The event brought together leaders from mutuals, co-operatives, and social enterprises to explore the future growth and development of these key sectors. As part of the discussions, the UK Government reaffirmed its commitment to doubling the size of the mutual and co-operative sector, highlighting its role in creating a fairer and more resilient economy.

Representing Wales’ largest building society, Mansfield shared his perspectives alongside peers from across the UK, reflecting the growing importance of financial mutuals in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.

“It was a privilege to represent Principality Building Society and engage with colleagues from across the mutual, co-operative and social enterprise sectors,” said Mansfield. “The Government’s goal to double the size of the mutual sector is both ambitious and important — one we fully support.”

The event also featured contributions from Jonathan Reynolds MP and Emma Reynolds MP, who reinforced the Government’s strong backing of mutuals and their contribution to inclusive economic growth.

Principality Building Society continues to play a leading role in Welsh financial services, demonstrating how mutual organisations can deliver strong performance while staying true to their purpose of member ownership and community benefit.
