pH Innovate Group Welcomes Torfaen MP to Showcase Growth and Commitment to Wales
Mamhilad-based fintech powerhouse, pH Innovate Group, showcased its growth and local commitment by hosting Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds at their headquarters.
Founded in 2018 by Stephen Peck and David Harlow, pH Innovate Group is a leading example of Welsh fintech innovation. The Group comprises three businesses:
- Quote Detective: A specialist motoring insurance broker.
- Next Venture Technologies: A cutting-edge insurance technology firm.
- Quote the Market: A taxi and courier insurance comparison service.
With its headquarters at the Mamhilad Industrial Estate, the Group employs around 110 people, with 90% of staff living in the NP4 and NP44 postcode areas.
A Vision for Welsh Fintech Excellence
Stephen Peck, Founder and Director of pH Innovate Group, shared his vision for creating a fintech centre of excellence in Torfaen, stating:
“It was great to show our local MP around the business and explain to him both the challenges we face as well as the successes we have had so far. We are committed to Pontypool and Torfaen as a business and would like to work with the local authority and other public bodies on creating a fintech centre of excellence here at Mamhilad Industrial Estate.”
Peck also highlighted their investment in workforce development, explaining:
“The workforce we have here is second to none and that’s why, as a business, we have invested our own money in training people to join pH Innovate. Many come to us with no qualifications, and we have trained them in everything from computer coding, data analysis and as chartered insurers.”
