North Wales’ Hartmark Secures Innovation Funding for Financial Risk Platform with Bangor University

Hartmark Consultancy Ltd, a North Wales-based business specialising in international debt recovery and financial risk advisory services, has been awarded a Skills and Innovation Voucher (SIV) through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, in collaboration with Bangor University.

The Skills and Innovation Voucher scheme helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Wales to access academic expertise for innovation projects. Through this initiative, Hartmark will work closely with researchers at Bangor University to enhance the digital and data capabilities underpinning its financial risk platform.

Hartmark currently delivers technology-enabled services to support credit agencies and global trade organisations, offering solutions such as trade validation, credit and asset investigations, real-time risk monitoring, and cross-border debt recovery. This SIV-backed project will focus on strengthening the platform’s data management and digital transformation capabilities to improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.

The partnership reflects a growing trend in Welsh fintech, where academic collaboration is playing a vital role in accelerating the development of digital tools and risk infrastructure.

“This partnership will help us further strengthen our approach to managing and leveraging data, ensuring we continue to deliver value for our clients and stakeholders,” the company said in a statement.

The project is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund’s broader mission to drive regional innovation, productivity, and economic growth, with a strong emphasis on supporting Welsh SMEs.
