North Wales Event Explores Priorities for Regional Fintech Growth
The FinTech Wales roadshow began in Wrexham, bringing together members, ecosystem partners and education providers to help shape the next stage of fintech growth in North Wales.
Rhys Griffiths and Sophia Wu joined the community at Felin Puleston outdoor centre, hosted by National Trust Cymru, for Roundtable: North Wales FinTech – Shaping What’s Next.
The discussion explored the support businesses need to grow, including access to investment, talent and skills, alongside opportunities to strengthen collaboration across the region.
Three priorities for North Wales
Participants shared their experiences and ideas, with three clear priorities emerging:
- Building a stronger community: encouraging collaboration and providing regular opportunities to connect, both face-to-face and virtually.
- Supporting skills and business growth: providing practical, valuable upskilling sessions for startup and scaleup founders, alongside support to help startups grow.
- Increasing investment readiness and visibility: helping businesses prepare for investment and amplifying the stories of North Wales’ fintech innovators.
Shaping what comes next
The insights shared will help shape FinTech Wales’ work in North Wales, supporting a more connected community and opportunities that reflect the needs of businesses in the region.
Thank you to Jamie Luck and National Trust Cymru for hosting us at Felin Puleston, and to everyone who contributed their experiences and ideas.
What would you like to see at a future North Wales event? We welcome ideas from members and the wider community on how we can continue supporting fintech growth across the region.
