Job Opportunity: Marketing and Engagement Executive

£20,000 to £25,000 per annum DOE

Office based in our city centre Cardiff office

Reporting to FTW Marketing & Communications Manager

Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual to join our team as a Marketing & Events Executive. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting marketing campaigns, coordinating events, and providing office management assistance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and has excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities 

Marketing (25% of the time)

  • Social – Lead FinTech Wales’ social media strategy to encourage further engagement and awareness of our ecosystem. Monitor performance and advise further developments based on analytics and trends.
  • Engage – Digitally liaise and engage with members and influencers on relevant channels.
  • Campaigns – Support and promote key campaigns to help promote FinTech Wales and the ecosystem.

Communications (25% of the time)

  • PR – Support FinTech Wales’ PR strategy.
  • Comms – Create blogs and other articles to promote FinTech Wales’ activity and the ecosystem.
  • Email – Develop and lead FinTech Wales’ email strategy to engage and inform members of various activities and opportunities.
  • Analysis – Monitor, analyse and report on the reach and performance of PR, commentary and blog activity.

Events (25% of the time)

  • Promote  – Support and promote all FinTech Wales’ events.
  • Industry – Update and inform the FinTech Wales team and members of industry events (local, national and international).
  • Team Calendar  – Manage the team calendar of events and office bookings.
  • Report  – Monitor, analyse and report on all events / attendees.

Office Management (25% of the time)

  • Office lead – Engage with and lead on all office visits.
  • Access – responsible for managing access to the FinTech Wales office, Monday to Friday 9-5.
  • Event space bookings – Manage all office and event space bookings.
  • Participation – Participate in departmental and cross departmental progress meetings.
  • Responsible – Act responsibly with data / information held by FinTech Wales that you may have access to as part of your role.

Key Measures (What success looks like)

  • Brand – grow FTW brand and recognition.
  • Comms  – develop an effective email strategy to engage with members.
  • Events – deliver a suite of events that deliver value to members and our ecosystem.
  • Social – amplify the success of Welsh FinTechs and increase engagement.
  • Office – manage a busy, fun and energetic office environment.
  • Membership – attract new, and retain existing members.
  • Ecosystem – increase awareness of Welsh FinTechs to the world.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Some experience in marketing, events coordination, and/or office management is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Flexibility to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing event and office needs.

Package

  • Salary of £20,000 – £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Full-time office based role in Cardiff City Centre.
  • Training budget allocated for your development.
  • 25 days annual leave per calendar year, increasing each year you stay at FTW.
