In an exciting move for Wales’ FinTech ecosystem, Go.Compare, a proud member of FinTech Wales, has relocated its headquarters to the newly refurbished Hodge House in central Cardiff. This move marks a significant milestone for the price comparison giant, which is part of Future PLC, as they sign a ten-year lease on a 15,629 sq ft office suite in the historic eight-storey building.

Go.Compare’s relocation from Callaghan Square to Hodge House, following a £20m refurbishment by Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), strengthens Cardiff’s growing reputation as a FinTech hub. The impressive transformation of the 110,000 sq ft building on St Mary Street offers state-of-the-art facilities within a prestigious, centrally-located site—making it a prime destination for innovative businesses in the sector.

Lee Griffin, CEO of Go.Compare, expressed his enthusiasm about the move:

“We are thrilled to be making Hodge House our permanent home in Cardiff. We are a Welsh company, born and bred, so our new offices based in such a prestigious building in our capital city is great news for the company and our staff.”

Go.Compare’s decision to join other major companies in Hodge House further cements its role in the Welsh FinTech community. As FinTech Wales members, they play a key role in driving innovation and growth in the sector. Commenting on the building’s appeal, John James of Fletcher Morgan, who managed the deal, said:

“Go.Compare is the latest high-profile and prestigious business to choose Hodge House as its HQ. The company joins tenants including Ogi, Intelligent Ultrasound, Currencycloud, Bute Energy, Harrison Clark Rickerby, and Menzies.”

Matt Phillips, head of Knight Frank in Cardiff, emphasized the significance of the move:

“This is a significant letting for Cardiff city centre… The landlord’s investment in modernisation at Hodge House has delivered high-quality, flexible office space in a period building with a superb central location.”

The relocation demonstrates Go.Compare’s commitment to providing its team with a modern, inspiring work environment while contributing to Cardiff’s position as a top destination for FinTech companies. As a valued member of FinTech Wales, this move highlights the importance of collaboration within the sector to continue building a vibrant FinTech community in the region.
