From Accelerator to Demo Day: Meet Cavefish, the Startup Making Emotions Measurable

As part of our 2025 FinTech Wales Foundry accelerator, we sat down with Steve Williams, Co-Founder of Cavefish, to hear about their mission, journey through the accelerator, and what’s next ahead of Demo Day on Thursday 9th October.

💬 Q&A with Steve Williams, Co‑Founder of Cavefish

Q: Steve, for people watching who haven’t heard of Cavefish—what does it do?
A: Cavefish is a platform that makes human emotion measurable. We analyse text, images, voice, and video to detect up to 52 emotions. Our goal is to help businesses move from a “what” mindset to understanding “why” users think and behave the way they do.

Q: How have you found the Foundry accelerator so far?
A: It’s been fantastic. The supportive network, diversity of the cohort, and the mix of practical sessions and real stories from entrepreneurs with experience has been particularly valuable.

Q: What are you looking forward to about Demo Day?
A: Very excited. We’ve been doing practice pitches, refining our messaging, and are eager to present our work to investors and the fintech community. I see Demo Day as a pivotal opportunity to open doors.

Q: Who should know about Cavefish, especially if they don’t already?
A: Anyone who needs to understand not just what people do, but *why* they do it. Use cases include customer experience, sales, threat detection, HR, and more. Emotion adds a layer of insight beyond behavior.

Q: How can people find out more?
A: Visit cavefish.co.uk, drop me a message on LinkedIn, or check out the longer Q&A for deeper insight into product and vision.
