Foundry Alumni Isabel Carapeta Wins Rising Female Award at Unicorn Factory Lisboa 2025

Isabel Carapeta, founder and CEO of fintech startup Simplifyer and a member of the 2025 FinTech Wales Foundry cohort, has been awarded the Rising Female Award at the 2025 Unicorn Factory Lisboa Entrepreneurship Awards. The accolade recognises her contribution to financial technology and her leadership as one of Portugal’s most promising startup founders.

The Entrepreneurship Awards, organised by Unicorn Factory Lisboa — a flagship initiative of Lisbon City Hall — celebrate outstanding entrepreneurs, startups, and community builders within Portugal’s innovation ecosystem. This year’s edition introduced the Rising Female Award and the International Personality Award to highlight diversity and global ambition within the sector.

“After such a year, this recognition is a beautiful reminder that it truly takes a village: to raise a child, build a business, and become a successful founder. […] No founder builds alone and I’m endlessly grateful for this amazing community we’re creating together.”

FinTech Wales congratulates Isabel and the Simplifyer team on this recognition and remains committed to attracting and developing international talent, enabling them to scale in the UK and beyond. Carapeta’s journey reflects how alumni are leveraging the combined strength of their home markets and the UK ecosystem to accelerate growth.
