This Winter the cost of living is exerting more pressure than ever on people’s finances, with up to 1/5 of the UK population taking out loans to cope[1].
At the same time scams are rising, including loan fee fraud, an increasingly common scam where people are asked to pay an upfront fee but then never receive the loan. Loan fee fraud is an insidious scam that targets those in society most financially vulnerable and least able to afford it.
This Winter the FCA are launching a partnerships campaign to increase awareness of this scam and the 3-step check that can help protect people from it. We would love to partner with Fintech Wales to help you protect people living across Wales that may be struggling during the cost of living crisis.
