Creditsafe and Seiza Partner to Advance Privacy-First Data Collaboration in Financial Services

Creditsafe has announced a partnership with UK technology company Seiza to explore new ways for banks, lenders and financial institutions to share valuable insights securely without transferring sensitive customer data between organisations.

With its UK operations based in Cardiff, Creditsafe has an established presence in Wales’ financial technology sector, providing credit intelligence, risk management and compliance solutions to businesses around the world.

The partnership brings together Creditsafe’s expertise in business intelligence and Seiza’s privacy-preserving data infrastructure, with the aim of addressing key challenges across financial services, including fraud prevention, affordability assessments and financial inclusion.

Enabling secure data collaboration

At the heart of the partnership is an approach that allows organisations to collaborate using trusted insights without sharing the underlying customer data.

Using privacy-preserving technology, participating organisations can identify common customers and exchange authorised insights while keeping personal information within the organisation that originally holds it.

Rather than transferring customer records between institutions, the technology enables relevant information to be made available to authorised parties for specific decision-making purposes.

Creditsafe and Seiza believe this approach could help financial institutions access more timely and relevant intelligence, improve decision-making and support better outcomes for consumers while maintaining privacy and security.

Dan Weaver, Product Strategy at Creditsafe UK, said:

“Innovation has been at the heart of Creditsafe for more than 25 years. We work with partners whose technology genuinely improves outcomes for businesses and consumers alike. This partnership reflects our commitment to helping organisations make more informed decisions through trusted data and insight, while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security.”

Francis Armour, Co-Founder at Seiza, added:

“With more than 30 years in banking, I understand how critical security, compliance and privacy are to financial institutions and their customers. We founded Seiza to rethink how organisations collaborate with data, enabling access to trusted insights while keeping customer information under the control of the organisation that holds it.

Working with Creditsafe allows us to bring this approach to market at scale and help the industry explore new ways of addressing challenges such as affordability, fraud prevention and financial inclusion, without compromising privacy, security or customer trust.”

Supporting innovation in financial services

Seiza’s technology uses privacy-preserving techniques, including zero-knowledge proofs and advanced matching capabilities, to enable financial institutions to exchange intelligence without exposing raw personally identifiable information.

The partnership will explore how this technology can be applied across financial services, helping organisations collaborate more effectively while addressing the regulatory and security considerations associated with traditional data-sharing models.
