Credit Canary, Aperidata, Sikoia, Named Winners of TSB’s 2024 Innovation Labs Programme

Sikoia, Credit Canary – a graduate of Fintech Wales Foundry Season 3 – and Aperidata, a Fintech Wales member, have been named as the winners of the 2024 TSB Innovation Labs programme, delivered in partnership with FinTech Scotland.

The annual programme, now in its fourth year, provides up to 15 early-stage fintechs with expert mentoring and insight from TSB’s Technology Hub in Edinburgh. It aims to support innovation that enhances customer experiences and strengthens the UK’s financial technology ecosystem.

This year’s selected winners stood out for their creative use of Open Banking and data-led technologies:

  • Sikoia automates manual, document-heavy verification processes to streamline finance applications.
  • Credit Canary delivers real-time decisioning across the credit lifecycle using Open Banking, credit, and tax data.
  • Aperidata empowers fairer, faster credit scoring through AI-powered, real-time credit referencing tools.

Each of the winners will now work with TSB to develop Proof of Concepts aimed at improving support and service delivery for customers.

Past programme successes include Lightning Reach, which enabled over £160,000 in grants for TSB customers in 2024, and ApTap, which helped customers save more than £65,000 on broadband bills that same year.

Adam Betteridge, FinTech & Open Banking Lead at TSB, said:

“We are incredibly proud of the progress made by these three innovative fintechs during the TSB Labs programme. Their solutions use data and technology in new creative ways to help provide an even better experience for TSB customers.”

Nicola Anderson, CEO at FinTech Scotland, added:

“These innovative fintech companies show how data and AI can be harnessed to deliver real impact for people and communities. This partnership with TSB demonstrates the powerful outcomes that can be achieved when new innovative firms and progressive established companies work together.”

Applications for the 2025 TSB Labs Programme will open in the coming weeks.
