Cardiff Hosts Landmark Women in STEM Event with Fintech Wales Among Exhibitors
Fintech Wales is proud to announce our participation in Rewriting the Equation: Women, STEM, and the Talent Reversal, an event set to take place on Thursday, 5th February, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM in Cardiff.
Inspired by the Women in Tech Taskforce and the Lovelace Report, this pivotal gathering will bring together founders, decision-makers, advocates, and allies across the public and private sectors as well as academia. With a focus on Women in STEM, the event invites all to contribute to creating lasting, collective change in the tech and fintech talent landscape.

A Deep Dive into the Talent Landscape
The day will begin with an exploration of the current economic and workforce environment, featuring insights from:
- Rowena O’Sullivan, Regional Skills & Talent Senior Manager at CCR
- Louise Bright, Pro Vice Chancellor Enterprise, Engagement and Partnerships at USW
- Laura Alexander, Head of Data Services at Hodge
This opening session sets the tone for meaningful discussion on the scale of the challenge and the urgency for action.
Leadership, Retention, and Bias in Tech
The second session delves into why women are leaving tech roles and how organisations can better retain and empower them. Following a keynote from Jacqui Greenland, a panel of industry leaders will share their perspectives and experiences:

The third segment will demystify artificial intelligence and its practical applications for businesses. The keynote address will be delivered by Steph Locke from Nightingale HQ, followed by a panel featuring:

The final part of the event is an interactive expo and action planning session, offering attendees the opportunity to connect with a wide range of organisations dedicated to fostering inclusivity and innovation in tech.
