Cardiff-based Alerte Universal Wins International Award for Emergency Response Technology

Cardiff-based technology company and Fintech Wales member Alerte Universal has been recognised for its work in emergency response and personal safety technology, winning the Best African Focused Emergency Technology Company 2026 award from MEA Markets.

The award recognises Alerte Universal’s work to develop swift, reliable and accessible safety infrastructure across Africa and the diaspora, with technology designed to connect digital emergency alerts with real-world response. Its technology is designed to address a key challenge: helping people communicate their location and need for assistance quickly when an emergency occurs.

At the centre of its offering is the Alerte Universal App, a digital safety platform designed for individuals, families, businesses, community organisations and emergency responders. The platform combines automated emergency routing with real-time GPS location sharing and instant SOS dispatch, integrating these digital capabilities with physical response networks. It is designed to support users during medical emergencies, security threats, accidents and other situations where rapid communication is critical.

The MEA Markets award highlights Alerte Universal’s approach to addressing emergency dispatch challenges in Africa and the UK, and marks a significant milestone as the company continues to develop its technology and expand its reach.

The Cardiff company has built its approach around the principle that access to emergency assistance should not be determined by an individual’s location or social background.
