Capital Law Hosts an Interactive Workshop on Best Practice for Responding to a Cyber-Attack

Capital Law, in partnership with cyber security experts Bridewell and the Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales, is hosting a free interactive event at its offices in Cardiff on 1st December, designed to strengthen the preparedness of senior leaders and board members in responding to cyber-attacks.

Cyber-attacks are increasingly sophisticated, indiscriminate, and capable of causing significant operational and financial disruption. This event, aimed at non-technical leaders, will provide vital insight into the legal, regulatory and strategic implications of a cyber-attack, as well as practical strategies for response and recovery.

Attendees will benefit from a hands-on workshop, facilitated by Bridewell, that simulates a real-world cyber incident. Through collaborative, scenario-based exercises, participants will explore key decision-making moments, mitigation tactics, and organisational responsibilities during a crisis.

Following the workshop, an expert-led panel discussion will allow participants to explore the broader implications of the simulated cyber-attack, with an opportunity to ask questions and gain insights from professionals across law enforcement, legal, insurance, and data protection sectors.

Agenda highlights include:

  • Interactive workshop (9:30 – 11:45): Bridewell will facilitate a hands-on cyber incident simulation
  • Panel session & Q&A (12:00 – 13:00): Expert discussion on legal, regulatory and insurance considerations following a cyber-attack

Panel speakers:

  • James John, Incident Response Manager, Bridewell
  • Carrie Jones, Principal Associate, Capital Law
  • Emma Francis, Cyber Insurance Specialist, Thomas Carroll Brokers
  • Bethan Davies-Phillips, Lead Policy Officer, Information Commissioner’s Office
  • Matthew Davies, Detective Inspector, Tarian Regional Organised Crime Unit
