Capalona Co-Founder Joins Dragons Panel at Den Y Dreigiau 2025

Capalona, one of the UK’s fastest-growing business finance comparison platforms, is deepening its commitment to entrepreneurship and innovation in Wales by taking a leading role in Den Y Dreigiau 2025, the high-energy pitch event taking place at M-SParc Menai Science Park, Anglesey, on 27 November 2025.

Rich Wilcock, co-founder of Capalona and its parent fintech company Sorodo, will join the panel of ‘Dragons’ (investors, mentors and business leaders) who will judge the evening’s pitches from aspiring local entrepreneurs. Alongside the main financial prize awarded to the winning pitch, Capalona has donated an Apple MacBook Air for the event’s Rising Star category, underlining the company’s support for early-stage talent.

“Den Y Dreigiau is where ambition meets opportunity,” says Rich Wilcock. “Being a Dragon allows me to connect directly with local founders, support their ideas, and reward the talent and hard work that goes into creating something new.”

Wilcock brings his fintech experience and entrepreneurial passion to the judging panel, with a focus on originality, ambition, and authenticity.

“I love seeing ambition turn into action,” he says. “Being a Dragon gives me the chance to support local founders as they take that leap and celebrate their creativity with them.”

Hosted in the heart of Anglesey’s innovation hub, Den Y Dreigiau offers a vibrant mix of inspiration, competition, and community. Attendees will enjoy business pitches, networking, and refreshments all while witnessing the region’s brightest new ideas come to life.

The event comes at a pivotal time for North Wales, an area that continues to attract significant investment and attention thanks to its Freeport status, technology park expansions, and designation as a UK Artificial Intelligence Growth Zone.

As part of the evening, M-SParc will also announce the winner of the inaugural Kieran Thomas Hughes Memorial Chair and celebrate the Young Innovator of the Year, a poignant tribute to a local changemaker and an affirmation of M-SParc’s mission to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Capalona exists to make funding accessible, but beyond that, we love to encourage innovation,” Wilcock added. “Events like this give entrepreneurs a platform to shine, and being part of that journey is incredibly rewarding.”

You can register to pitch for free or get tickets for the event for £10, including food, drinks, and entry with all proceeds contributing to the prize fund for the best pitch of the night.
