Calling Welsh scale-ups: applications open for Scale UK Connect

Welsh fintech, financial services and cyber security businesses are being encouraged to apply for Scale UK Connect, a free, 12-month programme designed to help high-growth companies overcome barriers to growth and access opportunities at home and abroad.

Delivered by London & Partners, the pilot will support 200 scale-ups across the UK’s eight Industrial Strategy sectors, including 40 businesses across fintech, financial services and cyber security.

The first cohort is scheduled to launch in mid-February 2027, with nominations and recruitment taking place until Christmas 2026.

What does the programme offer?

Selected businesses will receive tailored support and access to networks designed to help them reach their next stage of growth. This includes:

• Access to new markets: Tailored trade missions, market insights, opportunities to attend major events, and connections with advisers, potential customers and partners.
• Investor and corporate connections: Opportunities to build relationships with investors, major funds and leading corporates, alongside guidance on funding options, investment readiness and go-to-market strategy.
• A national network of scale-ups: Opportunities to share experiences and learn from other founders facing similar growth challenges.
• Expert-led workshops: Practical sessions covering leadership, talent, financial management, brand building and the commercial challenges of scaling.
• Dedicated account management: An account manager to help identify growth priorities and connect businesses with relevant expertise and opportunities.

Who can apply?

The programme is open to eligible businesses across the UK, including those based in Wales. Applicants must have:

• Annual revenue and/or investment of £2 million or more.
• Annual growth of at least 20%.
• At least 10 employees.

All applications are subject to a selection process. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee acceptance.

How to express your interest

FinTech Wales encourages eligible businesses across the Welsh ecosystem to explore the opportunity and express their interest early, as places are limited.

Businesses can complete the expression of interest form. Applicants should select “Partner” as their referral source and mention FinTech Wales where possible.
