Cardiff-founded fintech Finxplor is evolving its business to help fintechs, Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) move beyond traditional remittance models and into integrated digital financial ecosystems.
Founded in Cardiff in 2019, Finxplor began as a specialist consultancy and advisory services provider, supporting PSPs and Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs). Through its work in the payments sector, the company identified a growing challenge for both new and established providers: rising transaction volumes, complex integrations and tighter regulation, combined with shrinking margins.
In response, Finxplor evolved in 2025 into a unified fintech platform designed to simplify complexity and help partners unlock new revenue streams.
Through a single API, Finxplor enables partners to offer a range of everyday financial services, including digital gift cards from more than 4,000 brands across over 70 countries, airtime and data top-ups in more than 165 countries, global e-SIM issuance services, cross-border remittances across more than 80 countries, and international bill payments.
The platform is designed to remove the need for multiple vendors and fragmented systems, providing one infrastructure layer with built-in compliance and scalable opportunities for growth.
Led by CEO and Co-founder Ibrahim Muhammad, Finxplor brings together a team with experience across the UK, Europe, the GCC and North America. While the company is building with a global mindset, its roots remain firmly in Wales, with Cardiff playing a central role in where the vision first took shape.
Finxplor has already established regulated infrastructure and formed strategic partnerships across the UK, UAE and Oman. The company is now preparing for its first live transactions in Q3 2026, with a focus on activation, expansion and scale.
