Admiral Group Announces Leadership Transition in UK Insurance Division

Admiral Group, a member of Fintech Wales, has announced that Cristina Nestares is stepping down as CEO of its UK Insurance business. Alistair Hargreaves, the current Deputy CEO, will take over the role, subject to regulatory approval.

Cristina Nestares has been with Admiral since 2005, where she led the development of the Group’s Spanish business. She has served as CEO of UK Insurance since 2016, successfully navigating the company through significant challenges, including the pandemic. Cristina is stepping down to spend more time in her native Spain with her family.

In reflecting on her time at Admiral, Cristina said, “It has been a privilege to lead the UK business for the past eight years. I am immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I leave confident that the business is in great hands.”

Alistair Hargreaves, who joined Admiral in 2008 and has held a variety of senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer, is now stepping up to CEO. Alistair commented, “I am honoured to lead the UK business. Admiral is a fantastic organisation, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to drive further growth and continue to deliver for our customers.”
