FinTech Wales Members Explore Leadership and Connection at Summer Netwalking Event

FinTech Wales members came together to mark the start of the summer holidays with a leadership session and netwalking event in the Bannau Brycheiniog, hosted by Call of the Wild Ltd.

The event began with an engaging leadership session led by Lynda Campbell MSc, focusing on the opportunities and challenges of leading a multigenerational workforce.

The session explored how today’s workplaces can include up to five generations working side by side, while highlighting that employees across all age groups share the same core needs: fairness, trust, empathy, psychological safety and clear communication.

Key insights from the leadership session

• Leaders should adapt their approach to individuals without compromising their values, building trust through visibility, curiosity and genuine connection.
• As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into the workplace, human judgement, critical thinking and curiosity will remain defining characteristics of effective leadership.
• Creating environments built on trust and open communication is essential for supporting diverse, multigenerational teams.

Following the leadership session, attendees took to the slopes of Cribarth for a netwalking experience through the Bannau Brycheiniog.

The walk provided an opportunity for members to enjoy the outdoors while continuing conversations, strengthening professional relationships and expanding their networks. Two Jack Russells also joined the group along the route.
