Welsh Fintech Leaders Featured in Women in FinTech Powerlist 2025

Leaders connected to Fintech Wales have been recognised in the 2025 Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist, celebrating women driving innovation, inclusion and progress across the UK’s financial services and fintech sectors.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Powerlist, an initiative led by Innovate Finance which highlights more than 230 women across eight categories who are acting as agents of positive change within fintech and financial services in the UK and globally.

Hall of Fame recognition for Sarah Williams-Gardener

Sarah Williams-Gardener, Chair of Fintech Wales, has been inducted into the Women in FinTech Powerlist Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame was introduced this year to mark ten years of the Powerlist and recognises leaders who have appeared on the list five times or more, acknowledging their sustained impact on the UK fintech sector and their continued commitment to championing innovation, inclusion and gender equality.

The recognition celebrates individuals who continue to help shape the industry while inspiring the next generation of women working across fintech.

Fintech Wales ecosystem represented across the 2025 Powerlist

Several individuals connected to the Fintech Wales ecosystem were also recognised in the Women in FinTech Powerlist 2025 cohort.

  • Jing (Maggie) Chen, Professor of Financial Mathematics at Cardiff University and a member of Fintech Wales
  • Harriet Rees, Group Chief Information Officer at Starling Bank, recognised in the Senior Leaders category. Starling Bank is a Fintech Wales partner with offices in Cardiff
  • Savannah Price, CEO and Founder of Serene, a graduate of Fintech Wales Foundry Season 3
  • Lisa Stanley, Co-Founder of Zero Fintech and Good With Money. Zero Fintech is a Welsh fintech based in Cardiff

The Powerlist also features the Standout 45, recognising women who have made a significant and lasting impact in fintech while helping to build a more diverse and inclusive industry.
