Trivallis Housing Association, supported by a £25M funding package from Principality Commercial, embarks on a new phase of affordable housing development in Rhondda Cynon Taff, addressing pressing local demand for homes.

Trivallis Housing Association, an organization providing homes to over 25,000 people across Rhondda Cynon Taff and Cardiff Bay, has secured £25M in funding from Principality Commercial to expand affordable housing in the region. This investment aligns with Trivallis’ newly launched corporate strategy, focused on bolstering community well-being and supporting residents’ quality of life over the next five years.

Previously known as RCT Homes, Trivallis employs more than 400 people and manages nearly 11,000 homes. As a tenant-owned, community-rooted organization, Trivallis is committed to ensuring safe, warm, and affordable housing for those in need. The partnership with Principality Commercial, the lending division of Wales’ largest building society, will enable Trivallis to enhance its existing properties and invest in new developments, helping to meet the growing demand for housing.

Principality Commercial, which lends across England and Wales, is known for supporting housing associations and other projects within the commercial and residential sectors. Recent achievements include the completion of The Mill project in West Cardiff, which provided 800 homes in a new urban community.

“It is an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to work with Trivallis, where we are proud to assist with their development and regeneration ambitions to increase the number of urgently needed affordable homes in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area. This funding isn’t just about building homes; it’s about giving people the foundation they need to build their futures,” said Richard Wales, Commercial Lending Director at Principality Building Society.

“Community is at the heart of what we do, and we are very grateful that we have the support of an organisation whose core values align so closely with our own. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Principality who will help us continue our efforts to provide affordable and sustainable housing, with the objective of building strong communities and improving the well-being of those living in them,” added Lisa Pinney, Trivallis’ Executive Director of Resources.

This collaboration signifies a major step forward in the region’s affordable housing landscape, driven by shared commitment to sustainable community growth.
