  • News

The highly anticipated FinTech Awards Wales 2024 unveiled its winners on Friday, marking a significant celebration of innovation and excellence in the financial technology sector. Steve Dukes, CEO of principal sponsor Confused.com, described the event as nothing short of “powerful.”

Hosted at the legendary Tramshed in Cardiff, the FinTech Awards Wales were established by leading finance & technology recruiter Recruit 121. They serve as a platform to honour the visionary trailblazers propelling the FinTech industry in Wales while contributing to the growing momentum of the UK’s premier digital finance hub.

Matthew Hyde, Managing Director of FinTech Awards Wales, shared his thoughts on the importance of the event, saying, “The FinTech sector in Wales has become a beacon of resilience and innovation, even in the face of global challenges. The remarkable growth we’ve witnessed is driven by a unique blend of talent, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future. These awards are not just a celebration of success but a testament to the community that continues to push boundaries and elevate Wales on the global Fintech stage.”

Steve Dukes, CEO of Principal Sponsor Confused.com, shared his excitement about the event, stating, “These Awards show how far the Welsh Fintech ecosystem has come in a short space of time. It was powerful to see the impact being made.

“While it was great to celebrate the impressive achievements of the last 12 months, I’m even more excited at what’s to come. As an ecosystem we’re starting to really hit our stride – so it’s the celebrations of the future I’m looking forward to – you can see and feel that being built now, and that was inspiring.”

Emma Peterson, Director at Recruit 121 (Finance, Technology & Executive), emphasised the significance of the awards, stating, “In my role as a recruiter, I’ve seen firsthand how Fintech is reshaping the economic landscape in Wales.
