Description: 

The Product Manager/ BA is responsible for product planning and envisioning such that the Ship Shape team can deliver on that vision, and the company’s overall strategy and goals are achieved.

Strategic Envisioning

The Product Manager/ BA is expected to lead and own the processes for:

  • Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
  • Assessing market opportunities and competition
  • Assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Imagining as yet untapped disruption opportunities.

They do this by their own efforts and by directing and coordinating efforts of colleagues including but not exclusively Exec and Sales.

Owned planning and delivery tasks, and assistance from team

The Product Manager/ BA is then expected to:

  • Own the product roadmap
  • Control backlog with prioritized work items
  • Assess level of definition required for each work item, and
  • Define and document work items and definition of done, to the level the Product Manager and Technical Product Manager assess to be required
  • Own Specifications (BDD, GUI, API)
  • Assure delivery of work items prior to release
  • Approve releases

The Product Manager/ BA will be assisted in their responsibilities by:

  • UX/UI specialist
  • Snr Full Stack Developer
  • QA Analyst
  • CIO/COO (acting as Delivery Manager and Scrum Master)
  • Sales, Marketing, and Client team acting as Voice of the Customer

Contribution to others’ tasks

The Product Manager/ BA on occasion will assist the Exec, and Sales, Marketing, and Client team, to:

  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Perform product demos to customers
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Briefing press and analysts and go on press tours

 The Product Manager/ BA will assist Engineering leaders to:

  • Explain the product and features to all staff, for example:
  • for new joiners
  • to workshop details of complex features

Responsible for providing day-to-day support and exceptional customer service for our Installed Base of key clients. Responsibilities

Operations Framework (10 % of the time):

  • Collaborate – with the CEO, other members of the team, board and external suppliers to develop an operational work that enables FTW to function to the best of its ability.
  • Iterate – Importantly, revisit this framework on a regular basis to ensure it’s fit for purpose and evolves as the business grows and changes.
  • Calendar – develop an easy to understand calendar around all operational requirements, deadlines and events.

Financial (50 % of the time):

  • Lead – the financial management of all FTW financial matters from annual/qr reporting, filing/submission of key documentation (e.g. annual return, companies house filing statement etc…), to monthly revenue numbers and P&L updating.
  • Manage – internal and external resources (e.g. book-keeper) to help achieve

key financial responsibilities.

  • Manage – Resource, both internal and external to deliver and meet all financial requirements. (e.g. Accountants, Pension providers etc…)

People (25 % of the time):

  • Support – the CEO in managing employees from an operations perspective, e.g. payroll, contracts, pension etc…

Legal (10 % of the time):

  • Own – the filing and management of all legal documents related to the operational running of FTW.

  • Measure – develop a strategic reporting framework that allows us to benchmark the impact of marketing and promotional activity within the principality and beyond.

Promotion (50 % of the time):

  • Brand – the FTW brand, website and social media assets to ensure regularupdating and communication of key messages.
  • PR & Coms – ensure FTW maximises all opportunities and mitigates risksfrom a PR and Communications perspective.
  • Campaigns – develop several key campaigns to help promote key FTW initiatives
  • Events – take responsibility for all events promotion and management (both direct and indirectly when supporting other team members).
